Brief Introduction

Anand Prep Academy is an ideal English Medium Pre-School started in 1961 by Late Smt. Savitaben Amin.The Anand Prep Academy is famous for its beautiful and adequate physical infrastructure with ample indoor, outdoor space, well equipped and attractive classrooms and appropriate corners or activity centers where children can explore and experiment to facilitate the learning process. The Balwadi is an important threshold of formal learning and is responsible for structuring an environment which is the extension of the home in which the child learns through play and enjoys learning. Here at Anand Prep Academy we hope to create a stress free atmosphere which encourages: Resourcefulness, Self - Confidence, Independence, Patience and Competence.


At the same time prepare them with the basics of the 3 R's Reading, Writing and Arithmetic essential for formal schooling.
The journey continues at Anand Vidya Vihar (CBSE: Std I to XII) for further transformation and grooming students to become productive, responsible and sensitive individuals.

Our Inspiration

Late Smt. Savitaben Amin was a post graduate in Child Development and Early Childhood Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, USA. She also attended a course conducted by Madame Montessori at A'bad. On her return from America to India, she joined the Faculty of Home Science, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Vadodara and started Chetan Balwadi, a Nursery School that provides practical experience to students of Child Development. She was the Founder Member and Executive Chairperson of Navrachana Education Society, Bal Shikshan Samiti and Founder Trustee of Bal Bhavan Society,Vadodara. She had the expertise and a long varied experience of working with children in the capacity of an organizer of Preschools and as teacher and counselor.

Our Faculty

A team of dedicated educators with a basic knowledge of Child Development, create the right motivation to learn with particular focus on the pursuit of understanding and to the acquisition of knowledge and essential skills. They format an integrated curriculum which includes Language, Math, Environment, Creative Arts & Music for each age group. The teachers are friendly, warm, loving & sensitive to children's needs. Facilities We Provide

School Hours and Assembly

School Time: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Assembly is a threshold where the entire school community comes to share information, ideas, talent, knowledge and make essential agreements which would compliment student action.

Indoor Spaces

The classrooms: The classrooms are designed to meet the needs of the children, i.e. low and safe furniture, free and open spaces for movement, corners for reading/ writing readiness, a play corner with manipulative kits, game boards and toys. Plenty of mobiles and boards displaying educational materials like flash cards, stories, children, work, etc. and storage spaces accessible to children.

The Manipulative Room

Children in the age group of 3 to 6 years learn largely through sensory perception. Hence exposure to good learning materials like Montessori apparatus and blocks stimulates learning even more.

Music and Movement Room

A place where children learn to unwind with the sound of instruments and body movements which release pent up energy. Through rhyme and rhythm children also relate to language, facial expression and body movements. They learn to dance to a tune with accessories like ribbons and scarves, create songs and stories of their own. Movement activities, creative drama and dramatic play are other areas where again children can express their imagination and feelings through their body movements, dance, pretend play (as in the dollhouse) and through games. Thus enhancing verbal and nonverbal language development.

Art and Craft Room

Children love to create with their hands and are original in the way they think. Through art and craft they get opportunities: to use their hands and fingers and enhance their eye-hand coordination skills, to use all five senses, to work with colours i.e. paints, crayons, etc., learn different textures through clay, paper, sand, glue etc. and learn to express their individuality and shape their imagination and lastly to appreciate beauty and creativity.

The Library

A treasure of story books attracts the children to listen and relate print to pictures, comprehend characters and setting and also develops skills to predict story beginnings and endings. A vast collection of encyclopedias stimulate inquiry and a quest to discover the how and why of things around them. Shared reading is done by listening to audio cassettes along with finger reading print and at the same time developing appropriate listening and reading skills.

Outdoor spaces

Well equipped play ground with challenging equipment to climb, jump, balance swing and run, takes care of the physical development .The shady sand pit, water trays set up on special days makes group play such fun. The green open lawns are ideal for outdoor games, rhymes and story sessions.

Physical Education (P.E.) programme

A special PE program takes care of: The physical aspect of the child body e.g. posture, grip, body balance etc. Coordination of the left and right brain through special exercises, which eventually enhance the reading, writing process, values of health and hygiene, concepts of fairness and justice, qualities like patience and persistence, through games and play.

Our Field Trips

Children are taken on field trips by school conveyance to various places to give them an insight into different aspects of the world and create deeper understanding of the themes. The focus is on giving them a chance to explore and gain hands-on experience.

Festivals and Cultural Events

Celebrating festivals 8L events helps children to identify their own culture. All festivals are celebrated one day prior to the festival and all children are encouraged to participate in the celebrations and events.

Food

Special care is taken to offer a snack, a well balanced, nutritious and tasty meal to lure the children's appetite. The menu is balanced, keeping the needs of growing children in mind.

Transport

The school does not offer transport service (bus) at an additional cost. Please inquire at the office for details about Private Van or Rickshaw services.
(1) The rickshaw does not have more than 8 children.
(2) Children reach school on time for the school assembly.
(3) The background of the driver is cross-checked.

Age Criteria
  • Admission to Nursery Class :- 3 years complete by May, 31st.
  • Admission to Prep-1 Class :- 4 years complete by May, 31st.
  • Admission to Prep-2 Class :- 5 years complete by May, 31st.

  • Forms will be available at the school office for a fee of Rs. 1000/-.
  • Forms can be downloaded from the website, filled and submitted in person at the school office along with a fee of Rs. 1000/-.

Self Help Skills

Nursery

The journey begins with the Nursery class:

The children are between 3 to 4 years of age.
The major focus in the Nursery class is:
The transition and adjustment from the home to the school set-up.
Learning to grow independent by practicing self help skills like eating and washing on their own.
Learning to interact with peers, adults, and materials.
Learning to follow simple instructions and do a few activities.

Eye hand Coordination

Prep-1

Lower Kindergarten class:

(The 4 to 5 year old), serves as a bridge between the Nursery and the Higher Kindergarten class
Children here learn all prerequisite skills required for the reading and writing process,at the same time focus is on holistic development of children.

3-R’s

Prep-2

Higher Kindergarten class:

(The 5 to 6 years old)Children here learn to read and write meaningfully and understand appropriate math concepts.
In addition to the overall development of the children, the program focuses on school readiness i.e. grooming them for STD 1.
Children are active learners and learn easily when the educational experiences are age appropriate and enjoyable.

A Play Based Readiness Program To....

Strengthen gross motor skills

through outdoor play areas where children run, jump, climb, etc. and grow strong physically, yet at the same time learn to interact and respect other children as well.
